The dog days of summer are behind us, but we are still experiencing record heat. Now is the perfect time to stay indoors and keep cool while crafting. We would like to share with you some updated information about the tariff situation and the effect the tariffs will have on the prices of crafting goods. We would also like to share with you a new paper collection from 49 and Market and the projects made by Charlie.

Tariff Update
In our last blog post we reported that the tariff rate for products imported from China was 30%. That rate has now been increased to 34% for products imported from China. The tariffs for most of the Asian countries, many of which produce products used in the crafting industry, range from 25 - 36 percent. We will continue to carry items such as Scor Tape and Basic Grey magnets, but because those products will be subject to tariffs, their prices will increase.
In our previous blog post, we mentioned that it looked as if the tariffs for products imported from the European Union would be 10%. That rate was increased to 15% at the beginning of August. Also, the $800 de minimis exemption for shipments under $800 has been eliminated, so all products imported to the U.S. from Asia and the European Union will be subject to tariffs.
For the European Union, the tariff will be 15% of the sum of our wholesale costs of the goods plus their costs to be shipped to the U.S. If the sum of the product costs and shipping costs is $1,000, the tariff would be $150. Unfortunately, we will need to recover those costs by increasing the price of our Stamperia and Ciao Bella collection items.
New Paper Collection
Charlie created a custom mini album for one of her customers using 49 and Market's Little Dreamers collection. She provided us with photos of her album and I have got to say, it is so darn cute. For that reason, we have decided to make the Little Dreamers paper collection available in our online store. The Little Dreamers collection is filled with charming vintage-inspired baby motifs and adorable, gender-neutral elements like sweet animals and delicate details. The collection is perfect for creating precious keepsakes for little ones.
